Iron Horse Tools (IHT) is proud to spotlight Naveed Khan, our Chief Technology Officer (CTO). With over two decades of experience in the oil and gas industry, Naveed’s extensive expertise, knowledge and innovative practices, especially in Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD), have significantly propelled our company forward, enhancing safety and efficiency in drilling operations. 

His specialization in MPD has established him as a thought leader in the field, influencing new techniques and best practices that are pivotal to advancing the drilling industry. 

Throughout his career in the oil and gas sector, Naveed significantly contributed to drill operations at major companies and service providers, including Shell, Weatherford, Halliburton and Qatar Petroleum. His career spans various U.S. basins, including Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, Texas and Colorado. 

Outside the U.S., he has participated in significant international projects in China, Qatar, Nigeria and Canada. This global exposure gives him a unique perspective on the diverse challenges and advancements in drilling operations across different environments.

While Naveed is expanding his expertise by pursuing a PhD in Energy Engineering, his master’s degree in petroleum engineering laid the foundation for his successful career in drilling/downhole engineering and modeling. As CTO, Naveed brings this expertise to the Iron Horse Tool’s team so that we can propel our tailored solutions forward and continue to provide safe, efficient and reliable equipment to our customers.
